« Sur l’abîme » pour harpe et électronique

C'est en Grèce, à l'extrémité sud du Péloponnèse, là où le Magne s'enfonce dans la mer que j'ai ressenti pour la première fois un vertige qui m'est régulièrement revenu en songe par la suite. Désireux de comprendre pourquoi le petit port de pêche où nous avions passé la nuit avait provoqué en moi cette excitation mêlée d'angoisse, je découvris sur une carte la présence toute proche d'une faille sous-marine.
Je me suis souvent imaginé nager au-dessus de cette béance, savourant le contraste entre la familiarité de l'élément aquatique et la curiosité craintive suscitée par la profondeur de l'inconnu.

Au cours de mon travail sur cette pièce, l'émotion liée à cette expérience a peu à peu surgi de l'oubli où je l'avais cantonnée jusqu'à en devenir le moteur, telle quelle ou transposée dans d'autres configurations, adaptée à d'autres éléments.

" Sur l'abîme " semble imprégnée de souvenirs d'une vie antérieure ; ou peut-être est-elle un rêve que je contemple à travers le kaléidoscope du temps.

« Sur l’abîme » for harp and electronics

It was in Greece, at the southern tip of the Peloponnese where Mani plunges into the sea, that I felt for the first time a vertigo that regularly came back to me in a dream afterwards. Wanting to understand why the small fishing port where we spent the night had caused me such anguish and such excitement, I found on a map the nearby presence of an abyss in the sea.

I often imagined swimming above this gap, enjoying the contrast between the familiarity of the aquatic element and the fearful curiosity aroused by the depths of the unknown.

Whileworking on this piece, the emotion tied to this experience gradually emerged from the oblivion where I had confined it and it became the engine of my inspiration, implemented in other configurations or adapted with other elements.

" Sur l'abîme " seems imbued with memories of a previous life ; or perhaps it is a dream that I see through the kaleidoscope of time.
